The Station

Nokomai is a historic high country sheep and cattle station nestled in its own valley at the foot of the Garvie Mountains in Northern Southland New Zealand. Its location is well described by the original name “Glenfalloch”, given to it by its first settler, meaning “hidden valley “.

The wool is supplied to two well known brands, Smartwool (USA) and Icebreaker (NZ), both now owned by V.F. Corporation (USA).

To understand more about the station, farming and our way of life we suggest you take a farm tour.

Nokomai Valley Lodge gives you the opportunity to visit, and experience a range of activities in a breathtakingly beautiful setting.

The Mataura River known for its abundance of brown trout, winds its way through the property providing a popular destination for any fishing enthusiast.

We endeavour to give our guests a glimpse of the “real “ New Zealand and high country life, ,something we hold very close to our hearts and look forward to sharing with you.

We welcome enquiries and invite you to come and stay with us.
